Random musings of a wandering soul

Girl, Gone

girl on tree

When and where did that young girl go?
Did I even know she was not there anymore?
Was it life’s travails or didn’t I even care?
Did I ever notice the red hot fire in her eyes turning amber,
Into bits of ember, shivering and kindling when the wind blew,
Withering to cold ashes?
The voice that shook a few walls , when did it go quiet?
The mind that brimmed with life,
That spewed thoughts and emotions in an endless gush,
On which boulder did it lose its edge?
The feet that danced to its own tunes, why did it go limp?
The hands that reached out to a thousand stars, what do they do now?
The fingers that painted a thousand colors, why is it so calloused?
The heart that echoed wild drum beats, why does it just beat now?

Little girl, here is my wish for you…

May your eyes burn with passion,
May your voice rise above thunderstorms,
May your thoughts sparkle like the brightest light,
May your feet tap the rhythm of life,
May you hold magic in your hands,
May your fingers splash the world,
With the hues of the rainbow and then some more,
And may your heart show you the way….

Come back soon, for I miss you so…
